Professional Summary
Jackson Tatge (He/Him/His), from Ridgefield, Connecticut, is a recent grad from Michigan State University’s Graphic Design BFA program. Jackson is currently working on contract as an animator for GRL Contact, in web design for the Affordable Housing Institute, and works as a multimedia designer at Cleaver Magazine. In his free time, Jackson is working in motion, character, and UI/UX design for a mobile game application he is developing.
Biography
Jackson Tatge was born in Danbury, Connecticut, but spent his formulative years living in Singapore. Growing up in a foreign country taught him the importance of perspective and diversity. As he progressed through his secondary education, Jackson found himself falling in love with the arts. Working at his family-owned art gallery, he was able to meet artists from around the world. Jackson began to make art of his own, finding himself interested in photography and film. However, following a high school robotics course, Jackson enrolled at Michigan State University in computer science engineering.
Following his freshman year of college, Jackson recieved a reality check. Despite understanding the concepts and programming languages well, he felt unfulfilled by his major. Jackson switched into Graphic Design, and fell in love with the arts for a second time. He found he was able to apply computer science concepts to various graphic design softwares. Jackson currently dedicates himself entirely to his creative work.
